About Susan

We love our families, don't we? They come in all shapes and sizes, a variety of numbers and styles, but we're still family.

Our family is huge. Eight children (seven living), twenty-two grandchildren, and my father still keeps an impressive pace--and will be 92 tomorrow!

My husband and I have lived in three different states, but we finally achieved our dream three and half years ago of moving to the Redwoods, and the grand view of the Pacific Ocean ain't too bad either!

Take a look! Enjoy. If you read Dragon Unchained, you'll probably understand where some of the book ideas originated.

Natives around here call this place "country." I call it a forest. Either way, the small but busy surroundings also gave me the backdrop for creating Saving Lord Whitton's Daughter.

This is me before my youngest daughter got hold of the bleach bottle.

This is Home Sweet Home!

This is our absolutely spectacular front, back, and all around yard! Isn't it gorgeous? We feel so fortunate to live here. And this is my silly husband and even sillier me, after the bleach found it's way to my roots, and we found our way into this amazing forest.

And this is the place we really call home. I love to garden, even if I'm not very good at it. I took over as best I could, of course, when Mom passed away. Gardening was her greatest joy, and although I struggle to keep some of the plants alive, I've learned enough to be making progress. I even added some flowers I never knew anything about other than the name. I love hummingbirds, and they love fuchsias, too.

All in all, this is a fantastic place to sit back and write. It gives me ideas, helps me unwind, and reminds me every day that Earth is an amazing planet to live on.
